FREE Milk at Martins

on January 10, 2012

Every few months Martins has an amazing deal on cereal and milk. If you buy 4 participating General Mills Cereals you get $4.00 off instantly and a coupon for free milk up to $4.50.  The participating cereals are all marked on the shelves.  A good deal on brand name cereal is if you can get it for $1.00 a box, and today I was able to get it for about $0.70.  Here’s what I got:

Transaction #1:

  • 2 cinnamon toast crunch cereals @ $3.29 each
  • 2 cheerios @ $3.29 each
  • 2 salad dressings at $1.00 each

Total before coupons: $15.16.  Then I used 2 $0.50 off cinn toast cruch coupons from coupons.com that doubled to $1.00 and 1 $1.00 off 2 cheerio coupons from coupons.com.  You can also check smartsource.com and CouponNetwork for printable coupons.

Total after coupons: $8.93 plus coupon for free milk.

Transaction #2:

  • Milk at $3.74
  • 2 dented cans of corn for 0.69 each
  • dented can of peaches for 0.99
  • dented can of mandarin oranges for 0.99

Total Before coupons: $7.10.  Then I used my free milk coupon. Sometimes it will only take off the amount you pay for your milk, but today it took off $4.50!

Total after coupons: $2.78

Final Total Before coupons: $22.26

Final Total After coupons: $11.71

If you are going to do this deal, you can figure saving around $2.00 per box (4.00 off plus 4.50 off divided by 4)  Be sure your coupons will save you at least 0.39 per box so you are not paying too much for your cereal.  It will be cheaper to buy store brand cereal if you don’t have coupons.
