Connie’s Tater Tot Casserole: 2 dishes in 1

on February 8, 2012

Tonight’s dinner is based off a dinner Connie makes that we really like.  I don’t have the actual recipe so I was just kinda winging it tonight.  Not sure I can call this “Connie’s Tater Tot Casserole” because it didn’t taste the same, but it was really good! This is also one of the easiest recipes to make!!  I love when dinner can be made in one dish and has a meat and veggie in one.  This tastes kinda like meatloaf with gravy on one side of the casserole, and you have green bean casserole on the other.

  • Ground meat (we used venison)
  • 1 can green beans
  • 1 can cream mushroom soup
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 onion
  • tater tots
  • mushrooms (1/2 a package) (or you could use canned)
  • milk

To Make:

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Combine raw ground meat, 1 egg, and onion until well mixed
  3. Press meat into 1/2 a casserole dish
  4. Dump can of green beans into other 1/2 of dish
  5. Top with cream of mushroom soup that is mixed with 1/4 cup milk
  6. Put mushrooms on top of soup, then kinda press/mix into meat and beans
  7. Top with tater tots
  8. Bake for about 1 hour (check after 45 mins) until internal temp on meat is 160 degrees
